Healing Redefined
Custom foot orthotics are specially designed medical devices that help support proper foot alignment, improve biomechanics, reduce pain, and enhance overall mobility and function.
At Aceso Health Clinic, we use advanced 3D digital foot scanning technology to create precise, customized orthotics tailored to each patient’s unique foot structure and movement patterns.
Custom orthotics can help improve posture, reduce stress on joints and muscles, and provide support during daily activities, work, and sports.
Examples of Conditions That May Benefit From Custom Orthotics:
Custom-made orthotics are prescribed to help align the feet and ankles into a more efficient anatomical position while supporting the correction of biomechanical abnormalities affecting the feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back. In addition to cushioning and arch support, custom orthotics may help reduce pain, improve foot function, prevent injuries, correct foot imbalances, and enhance overall comfort and performance.
Over-the-counter or kiosk orthotics are made based on general shoe sizes and are not customized to your individual foot structure. Custom orthotics are specifically designed for your feet and movement patterns, allowing for more accurate support, correction, comfort, and long-term effectiveness.
Not necessarily. Problems related to foot mechanics can often contribute to symptoms in other areas such as the ankles, knees, hips, or lower back, even without direct foot pain. Custom orthotics may help improve overall alignment and function.
Many extended health benefit plans cover custom orthotics between $400–$700 every 1–2 years. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly regarding their specific coverage. The fee for a pair of custom orthotics at Aceso Health Clinic is $550 and includes the biomechanical assessment, gait analysis, 3D digital scanning, reports of findings, custom orthotics, and fitting appointment.
The initial appointment is approximately 30 minutes and includes a consultation, physical examination, gait and biomechanical assessment, and 3D digital foot scanning, which is sent to our orthotics lab for manufacturing.
Depending on daily use and wear, custom orthotics generally last between 1–2 years before replacement is recommended.
Custom orthotics are typically ready within approximately 2 weeks. Once received from the lab, our team will contact you to schedule a fitting appointment, which is included in the cost and typically takes 10–15 minutes to ensure proper fit, comfort, and function.
